DOKO – Ochota Campus Explorers’ Day 2025

Ochota Campus Explorers’ Day at the University of Warsaw will take place on Saturday, March 22, under the theme „Ochota for Slow Science”. This will be the 11th edition of the event. Registration opens next Monday, March 17.

The Faculty of Biology UW has prepared workshops and guided tours to laboratories that are usually inaccessible, including the animal facility (noSlow mice). During the workshops, participants will have the chance to isolate DNA from mushroom fruiting bodies, explore the secrets of embryology, and learn more about the brain and immune system.

The Botany Student Association will introduce visitors to modern in vitro plant cultivation techniques. Additionally, we invite everyone to visit our interactive booths: “Reverse Taste”, “Bacteriophages – How to Hack Them”, and to meet researchers from the Institute of Evolutionary Biology.

For the first time, there will also be a panel discussion titled “How to Effectively Protect Nature”, moderated by Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Takao Ishikawa.

Visitors can also enjoy an outdoor exploration game, as well as lectures and workshops covering topics in mathematics, chemistry, physics, geology, bioinformatics, medicine, psychology, and computer science.

In the main hall of the Faculty of Physics, an information booth will be set up, featuring representatives from various faculties and central units of the University of Warsaw. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet deans, faculty members, and students, and to learn more about studying at the Ochota Campus. Those interested in the Faculty of Biology will find valuable insights into academic life and programs.

• 10:00 – 15:30 Faculty information booths for prospective students
• 11:45 – 15:45 Lectures, workshops, outdoor game, and exhibition zone
• 16:00 – 16:30 Closing ceremony & award presentation
